Green Eggs and Ham

Thanks to my friend Stephanie reminding me of Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2nd, we spent a whole day celebrating and doing all the Dr. Seussy things I could think up.

Of course, the first thing we did was eat green eggs and ham!

While we were eating I read Green Eggs and Ham and the kids all did the yucky face pose for me. They actually loved them.
For story time the big kids read Dr. Seuss to the little ones.

Everyone worked together to do some big Dr. Seuss puzzles.

Then Eben and Jasper worked together and Kivi and Opal teamed up to create a Dr. Seuss inspired story of their own, complete with rhymes. The bigs wrote and the littles did the artwork.

I also let them spend some time playing on seussville.com, after they finished the rest of their school, where they learned about the movie The Lorax, (which was one of the books we read that day) so that might be in our future now.

I read about Dr. Seuss's birthday, complete with green eggs and ham, on Eben's blog. What did they call their Dr. Seuss inspired story? I want to make sure they read it to me next time we're there. I bet it's darling.
Love,
